Oh yeah - is it just me or does clicking on the images not bring up a larger image, but the text of the actual image file??? Is this MS's way of making me not want to use my Mac? It doesn't work with Safari or Firefox.

Okay, that makes me jealous for my youth when I lived in the Rockies. But, I had 30 years there so I can still call up a lot of memories, so unlike others I don't hate you! :-)

My ride in this morning was good, except I was carrying approximatetly my body weight in today since I'll be at work 12+ hours today. Fun fun! At least the humidity is going down now that fall is here.

Well yesterday morning I drove the 200 miles to Bristol. Two torrential downpours, two shunts, three sets of roadworks, 4 3/4 hours. Your morning was definitely better than mine

Okay, that is pretty friggin' awesome.

All of your stuff recently, along with a few other things, has made me (gasp!) want to get a mountain bike. This makes me feel all weird inside, epecially since, as I will shortly relate to you, I am terrible at it. Well, mostly because I have never done it.

At the end of my first full road season, I went and built up a cyclocross bike, because, it's something to do, right? And, in short, I realized, "hey, I can see where those trails sticking out the side of the road GO..."

Well, on what an MTB rider would probably call "non-technical singletrack," my reaction was basically "Oh my GOD, there's NO ROAD! What now?" compounded by a few steep descents, where I realized that Avid Shorty 4 cantilever brakes + ergopower levers = you may as well try to grab trees with your hands to stop...

Look at that not a man made teeter totter structural thingy in sight. I bet even the trails were made by bears. Yep your morning started off way better than mine but I bet your stuck behind a computer now just like us. It's at least sun shining here in Adelaide. Oh yes I meant to mention yesterday that you should be congratulated on the high class of intelligent correspondents you attract. Wow I just managed to suck up to ecveryone!

I'll admit that it looks pretty good, but it doesn't look perfect (a little mud). After Gosseberry, I vowed to never ride again, unless it was perfect.

Kenny rides that trail on a single speed. Where's your single speed? I see a bike with gears. LOTS of gears. Dozens of gears. Brad rides that trail with one gear. 1 vs 27. Please imagine me slowly shaking my head from side to side, with my head slighly bowed and a mild look of dissapointment and distain on my face. And thanks for the invite, but I was WAY too busy doing really interesting and important things (like curing cancer) to go on a bicycle ride.

It would probably take me closer to 20 minutes of driving to get somewhere I could ride anything close to that. It would have been a good day for a ride but I was stuck in a court room for the 3rd day for jury duty. The case is expected to take another week so I won't be getting out for any lunch rides. No, I'm not bitter, I just wish some people would get over it and get on with their life.
