"Soylent Green" was basically an updating of Jonathon Swift's suggestion in "A Modest Proposal" where you could solve the problems of overpopulation by poor people and mass starvation at the same time. GWTW is a classisc to some, Casablanca, or The Godfather(s), Blade Runner, or maybe Animal House to others. It's all influence and perspective. Soylent Green is kinda a "junk movie " classic, like the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and it's ilk. Still alot of fun to watch.
