I saw the picture of Brent and Sandie, and it really scared me. They say that everyone has a twin somewhere. Sandie is my twin, this is confirmed by my co-workers and parents! I’m glad that my look alike also likes to ride and drink beer!

The Pink Jersey is gorgeous – still trying to convince my wife that I’d look good in the pink socks though.

I christened the shirt yesterday riding up the Cormet de Roselend (stage 8 of Tour de France).

my pink jersey’s inaugural ride was last night, it was great. Though I wish it had an invisible, unfeelable, super-tough mosquito barrier–then I could say it was perfect.
Super mad props on the design–my companion/fellow spin teach said she wasn’t tired of seeing it in front of her. The color is perfect for standing out against the country roads in summer. Yay!

Mark, I will second Kenny’s comments on the Ferrous. It’s smooth as buttah. I got the complete bike (frame was sold out) and have to say that I’m actually pretty impressed w/ the Sram X9 stuff. I will be converting it to single speed shortly, though, if I can get my Kona sold.

I ended up at STP instead of a cool NRC race last weekend, since I am slow these days. I saw 2 Fatcyclist.com jerseys on the ride, one with the socks! Both were the original version, of course — I don’t think any of the pink ones had made Seattle by Saturday — but it was cool.

It was also neat to do 200 miles at a quick cruise, without it being a race.

My previous long ride was 130 miles…

Lanterne– yes, we stopped at the miniature donkey farm. That’s where I took my bad pictures. I did get a chuckle about that, though. Mini donks! Cute!

Clydesteve and Eric: Yay Oregon folks! I’m in Tigard, commuting around this area, and riding the Vineride in August. No Peach for me, though, I’ve got a different event that weekend. I’ve never done a century, this was supposed to be the year for it but my knees are rebeling against me. Gr. Maybe the Portland Century?

As I suffered up the Eola hill, all I could think was that if Susan can fight off cancer, I can make it up one measly hill. Go, Susan! Win! ITALY!!!!

Clydesteve, KT: There’s getting to be quite a mid-Willamette Valley contingent. I live in Portland, and a biking buddy of mine is in Silverton. Fatty was gracious enough to send the orange FC jerseys to us airmail to get them here in advance of the Silverton Road race in May. We both wore them proudly, placing well in the middle to end of the pack. Fat in body? No. Fat in spirit? Clearly and proud of it.

As for FC encounters, my buddy lives right at the base of the Silver Falls loop and rides it regularly, so there’s a distinct possibility that you’ll see him. And maybe we’ll see you on the Peach of a Century.

Well, Col, you have to know Barry. When he says he’s going for a ride “wearing a pink jersey,” you simply have to assume that the topics he doesn’t speak to (helmet, shorts, shoes, sunblock, chamois cream) simply aren’t included on the packing list.
