I'm going to go ahead and break the news that this was due not only to Elden receiving a record NINE flats. But also because he got into an unexpected fistfight with Lance Armstrong which combined with the flats delayed him from 8:53:30 to 9:14:30 (Elden is good at fixing flats, plus Lance was unexpectedly easy for Elden to TKO). Lance, got a DNS/DNF/DFL from it, plus the embarrassment of being TKO'd by a man in a pink jersey. Based on all of that I'm claiming victory as clearly Fatty should-have/would-have/deserved-to come in at 8:53:30.... Separately, Landis is reported as #2 at 7:00:30? He's either one of the great riders of our generation or a complete scoundrel. Either way, dopers suck. So there. Congrats Fatty!
