Fatty, great post as usual.

Regarding Shafer Trail, the civil engineers said it was impossible. My buddy’s grandfather said it was and took his CAT and a load of dynamite and went out and built it.

If you would like a longer version, including accounts of how the fin (the top part is built across the top of a fin) would move if he let the blade of the CAT cut too deep, I’ll put you in touch with my buddy.

We did that loop. The guy at OTE in Hurricane suggested it, and it was great.
I don’t think that Hurricane/Gooseberry will ever be “The next Moab”, but that is probably a good thing!

Nice write up as always. Was fun to see you for a few minutes. The brats were tasty.

btw… I saw you climbing (hardscrabble maybe? they all blended together for me) with Kanyon Kris. You guys both looked dang strong. I just looked dang fat. Well done brother.

In my giddiness of being on biking vacation I forgot to give my regards for Susan and the kids. My apologies. I’m sure you get sick of hearing it, but I do hope your family is doing as well as they possibly can.
