The alpine loop round-trip from Provo used to be my favorite loop when I was in school there in the late 90's. Once you get past Sundance it's like a whole nuther' realm. Downhill toll-booth sprint. Love that feeling when you clear the last bad corner and you can let the ponies run! Love the look on the toll-booth guards face when a pack of rabid roadies are screaming through at full-tilt-boogie! Thanks for bringing back the memories. -Pete Great write up! Knowing that Mark was coming from a family party on a Saturday afternoon I thought I might even need to wait for him. Little did I know that the group of two had grown to five and would be racing no less! You are correct about about one thing though: Mark does have exceptionally large calves that can dish out some serious pain. I blew sky high trying to hold his wheel and limped up the south side of Suncrest so slow I might have made better time on foot!
