After losing our son it was hard for me to be around people. I felt there was no way anyone could understand the gut wrenching pain I was going through- and I was bitter about it. My friends forced me to start running again and eventually, I found my sense of humor which gave me the strength to get up in the morning. Your ability to find your smile shows how strong and innately cool you are. Your quads ain't so bad, either. Fight like Susan! Lizzy I’m proud of you, Fatty. You don't know me. In any case I find your stories and courage uplifting. So much so that I printed a page from your blog the other day and put it in my wallet as a reminder that, when I think I am suffering, I am not. I am fortunate to have not been personally connected to someone who faced a battle with cancer like you and your wonderful wife have. I pray I can always say that but know the odds will likely catch up to me. My only hope is that when and if I do stare this awful disease in the face, I am able to cope, love and fight on like you.
