Fat Dadoo. I did go to Sacto and ride the American River trail today. A nice ride I've been wanting to do for some time. Besides knocking out 62 miles, I had the unmitigated pleasure to see riding in the opposite direction, the squads from Rabobank (twice), Liquigas, and QuickStep. Tom Boonen! I rode past Tom Boonen on the same trail in the same country on my bike! Holy cow, I had goosebumps. The only thing I regret was not wearing any Fatty kit today. Great ride - great day.

Dan in Sac. the trophy reads: Eric Luttrell, First Place. 100 Miles of Nowhere 2010. My Michele is awesome. I'm a lucky man to be sure.

Thanks all for the kind comments.

Congratulations on gutting it out and finishing!

This is Eric's wife, Michele. I'm really proud of Eric- he was totally determined to do this ride. But he neglected to send any of the photos I took of his butt. He has a fine cycling butt, and the world is a sadder place because he didn't send the butt photos to Fatty.

All I did was hand him Gu packets and Clif Bars. I'm sure this contributed greatly to his success. He wouldn't let me dump a cooler full of iced Gatorade over him at the end, though...

Funny you should mention that. That's exactly what I had in mind to do tomorrow or friday. I've been wanting to do that ride for quite a while now.

Eric,
nice work.
I am slightly older than you but about the same stage at reconditioning. Might I suggest you head to the American River Trail from downtown Sacramento east to Folsom?
It's not too far from the east bay and beautiful this time of year.
And the winds seem to be fading out...

cheers
