Debi - You might want to look into Randonneur riding. It sounds like you have the endurance for it!

great story!
My husband and I rode in Soldier Ride Tampa and named our team after the nephew of 1 of his coworkers who acquired TBI and b/k amputation in Iraq.

That was a fantastic story Debi thanks for sharing. My son is recovering from a TBI and I built him a bike we can ride together to help in his recovery. It has made big impact on his continued improvement. We are planing on riding in the live strong ride in Davis this year looking forward to meeting you in Davis.

thanks Debi for your story - I too have had a TBI following a bike accident (the helmet saved my life) and for me, riding in Davis will be my proudest moment. I get very tired still and the distance and riding with other people will make it a huge challenge for me - but I will get there as you did! well done!

Fatty thanks for giving me an opportunity to share my proud moment with your followers. For those who commented, thank you for the kind words.

Who better to share this experience with than those who can relate because of their love of cycling and their commitment to a cause, i.e, fighting cancer, supporting our troops, etc.

I should have added that I didn't ride with the tires that came with my bike. A friend of mine who has ridden several death rides and is training for an Ironman Triathlon convinced me to change to a lighter tire. He said it would help with my climbing and it did. Now, I'm working on the chunky butt of the biker ;-).

I'm looking forward to meeting Fatty, the Runner and those who plan to be at the Livestrong Challenge in Davis. Cycling is a feel good sport and it feels even better when you're riding with good people and for a good cause.

Grrrr. While trying to bring my blog down to 1,000 words or less I see that I left in quite a few unnecessary commas. Darn, I'm not perfect. ;-)
