Having trouble getting to Michael's entry page on Facebook. It's tell me that the content is no longer available. Any ideas?

The contest is over is why. Thanks for trying though! - FC

Hmmm...I think the TdD needs weight-class divisions (I mean, SURE, I can eat some SERIOUS amounts of donuts, but can I reasonably be expected to be able to eat like FORTY? I have a tiny belly...I'd look like Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke after eating those 50 hard boiled eggs...and then to RIDE?? However I'm pretty sure I could do a negative time in this race. Pound for pound I'm pretty scrappy when it comes to eatin' and ridin'!

Anyway, it all sounds very cool Fatty...wish I was anywhere NEAR Utah (and that I had even a few HOURS of vacation left...sadly I'm totally tapped out just now). But you did lure me into ordering the Tech T...I of course ordered the jersey last week and somehow then had the willpower to NOT order more...but I just caved and did the T...an impulse buy (I haven't had much sleep or food)...I'm gonna have to get a part-time job soon if I can't get some overtime...this cycling stuff gets expensive!

Good luck on your sponsorship...I'm SURE you'll do fine, and you have chosen a great cause as always.

So funny Fatty. LOL.

Some times I wish I did live across the pond. I am convinced you will come in at a negative time. I just took 60 min. on my indoor cycle trainer.

Enjoy!

Word got out about the Tour de Donut on the FOB I'm stationed at. There are a handful of us seriously considering doing our own, stationary Lifecycle (does that even qualify as a bike?) donut tour for the fun of it. It would be a Tour de Donut of Nowhere!

Blanket warmers are amazing! I can attest to that from both a providers perspective and a patients perspective.

I love the new Fat Cyclist Gear. I'm so wanting to purchase a few items I can wear when I finally get home to Colorado, but my fridge at home blew up and the hubby had to spend the paycheck to fix it! Hoping the insurance will reimburse us in the next few days.

Well, the contest is over and I didn't crack the top 2. Thanks everyone for your votes and well wishes!

Just gonna have to do it on my own, sounds like a country song...

My 8-year-old son Jack and I raced in the Staunton, IL Tour de Donut last weekend. The ORIGINAL TDD.

It was my boy's first group ride, first ride over 13 miles, and he crushed it. We ate four donuts on the route and after being the very last two starters of the day (there were over 1,300 riders) we managed to finish ahead of nearly 200 people.

But the best part was my boy not only finished the 31 mile course, but out of the 53 "16-and-under" participants, of which only one (Jack) was under 12, he finished 40th.

Scariest thing we saw was the "gentleman" at Donut Stop #2 who had consumed... wait for it... wait...

31 donuts, and was on his 32nd when we rode away, our stomach's clenching.

Fatty,

I wish I could be back in Utah for this weekend. This is a race I can compete in and win. Look forward to being there next year.

This is admittedly posted in the wrong thread, but I figure folks are reading this, and not scrolling back looking for new comments on old posts. So, here's Jens Voigt blogging about yesterday's tour stage and writing about a subject near and dear to Fatty's helmeted head: "But I didn’t get a break from Mother Nature, because at one point I was climbing along and a bee worked its way under my helmet strap and stung me right on the Adam’s apple! Now, this is not a serious thing. I’m not allergic to bee stings or anything. But, boy, who needs that when they are riding in the Tour de France?" So I guess even pros need a face shield!

I would have seriously considered taking a trip (I've got miles to burn) if this were posted with MORE NOTICE.

Have a great time. Nice sandbagging btw.
