It made me teary eyed just reading the bios of the guys. I’m doing my first Leadville, scared, excited and in awe of the greats. Just to race with these heroes makes it so inspiring. Getting myself in shape for this has been awesome. I head to Leadville tomorrow. Thanks for your passion, it inspires us!

@Art – I am all about comfort. The more comfortable you are the more you can focus on suffering. If you are uncomfortable you are thinking “when will this end,” but if you are comfortable you are thinking “OK FULL GAS FULL GAS RIGHT NOW!!!”

So … since Lance has spoken, will it be the Stumpjumper? Or perhaps Trek has been follwoing along and has a nice xtr equipted hardtail to lend you now too. Or perhaps C’Dale needs to get in on this party. Hmmm…. :-)

Dave Wiens is an awesome guy, a relentless MTB advocate (I was in congressional meetings with him at the Natl. Bike Summit and he’s incredibly well-spoken), and a major IMBA supporter. Maybe he’ll convince you to join. ;-)

Super cool idea and I can’t wait for more MTB stories. Next year you should invite Jenn Dice, IMBA’s Govt. Affairs Director. She has raced Leadville, I think, 11 times, and is a good storyteller.
