If you want a small (relatively) point and shoot camera to stick in your jersey pocket and one that will take a beating you need to buy this..

Point the first. Canon has the best picture quality of any point and shoot out there period. Point the second, third and fourth…Waterproof to 33 feet, cold resistant from 14-104 degrees, and shockproof up to 4 feet.

I have one and I’ve dropped it climbing, swam for hours through water logged canyons with it in my pack, stuck it in a sweaty pocket, taken it through dusty trails…you get the picture? (inserting a clever joke about a ‘picture’ here).

Despite its somewhat…’I bought this toy Mattel camera for my kid so they don’t ruin mine’ look and feel, it’s a jewel. If you don’t believe me, feel free to walk across the street and borrow mine. I’m taking some liberties here with the measurements but my front door is exactly 54 strides from yours…less if you leap…shouldn’t be too strenuous.

The Runner passed me on the first climb on the run. She said she felt like she was barely moving. I think she was the only one running at that point. Nice job guys!

my husband and i do the exact same thing in every tri we do. we spend the swim leg in the back, bike leg passing lots, and run leg holding or passing a few. then we play the what-if game at the end. if only we knew how to swim, we could actually be competitive at this tri thing. and then we forget that and don’t spend the time/effort to learn to swim better.

A 21 minute time for pros in wetsuits tells me that mile was more like a mile and a half.
They should be closer to 15 minutes for an actual mile.

Hey Fatty–Nice job!! I always enjoy your write ups. I saw video highlights of the event and I believe that the woman with crutches was former XTERRA World Champion/cancer survivor Jamie Whitmore (http://www.everymantri.com/everyman_triathlon/2011/05/jamie-whitmore-wins-hearts-as-stoltz-paterson-win-xterra-pacific-championship-.html).
