Dang. That was a tear jerker of a post. I'm glad you found the bike. I do some of my best thinking, meditating, and relaxing while riding my bike. The worst day on a bike is still an amazing day.

Prayers and healing thoughts are directed your way. You and your partner are two of the reasons I support LIVESTRONG. I hope you two are utilizing their services. They are an amazing bunch of people and the organizations they team with are just as wonderful. I hope that Fatty gives an update someday and your partner is healthy and cancer free. Lance Armstrong proved it can happen. My young brother-in-law is battling Stage 4 colon cancer - less than 8% chance of surviving 5 years - he's going into year 3 and he just had a clear colonoscopy - NO CANCER! He's not out of the woods yet and I'm not sure if he is going to be on chemo the rest of his life, but he is beating the odds and that is what I want for your partner - to beat cancer. I'd love it if you two could grow old and wise together. That would be awesome!

Take care! Fight Like Susan! Allez!!!

When my wife was sick I rode hard, kept records and always tried to go harder. At that time it was all in my life I could control. Cancer has a mind of its own. My bike kept me sane during those hard years. I will think of you and your partner, say a prayer and smell the flowers.

Thanks Angela...what a story! I never know if I will laugh or cry when I read this blog....and you got me tearing up!

Cycling provides such freedom with the wind in our hair and the bike almost effortlessly moving beneath us...

I am sending kind healing thoughts your way for you and your partner.

I bet you will find that bicycle charm...if not...perhaps get another one and make that same wish!

Keep fighting and best wishes to you both! I'm so glad you have your bike to give you some moments of clarity, rest, and peace. I hope you and your partner both find plenty of joy together as you pedal the Norteast!
