HAHAHA you failed twice Bob B- missed your time goal and then come on Fatties site to confess to being a tool. Get to the front of the race so no "slow" riders will impede your precious way.

Jimmy, you're missing some context here. Bob B is one of my closest friends; he's just joking around. - FC

I confess that I was the one who yelled "You're too f--ing slow!" I had planned on doing a sub-8 Leadville now that I have gotten my 5'8" frame under 184 lbs, and I was just grumpy that I was looking at an 8:30 finish. Bleck. Anyway, stay further to the right next time and you won't irritate me as much during the descent.

(I’m so glad they’re not inorganic, because that would make them very difficult to eat

Bwa-ha-ha! Somehow I am always easily amused when someone compares the greenie-earth-muffin understanding of organic with the chemistry meaning of the word.

I'm so happy that ass didn't ruin your day. What a jerk. I hate people like that. The ones who take themselves to seriously. The pro MTBer that I follow, Sonya Looney, did the same thing you did - cheered the folks going up the hill. I think they should ban people like that guy from racing. There is no excuse for being a rude jerk during a race like that. None. I will probably never do Leadville, being a sealevel dweller and all. I would die from lack of oxygen. Loving the blog posts on Leadville and I can't wait for the ones for the Breck! :)

As a stay at home dad, who doesn't get to move the cranks as much as I should, I agree that I enjoy your ride reports as a bit of vicarious awesomeness. Wow, that was a long sentence.

Fatty - I am a mere mortal from the flat lands (IN) - 11:05. I can see how it can be an addictive race - we'll see about next year. The downhills wore me out mentally which I wasn't expecting. We have nothing like that around here. A great ride with great people.

I saw Fatty descend columbine, Caught a group being pulled by non-other than the Hammer and turned my self inside out to finish under 9 hours just to come-out short by 10 minutes. I can wait for next year to do it all over again.

starting in the last wave on a SS and arriving at the base of Columbine with the masses is a bit of a different story since riders are starting to come down when you want to pass - track standing practice is useful. I overheard a couple of guys saying SS riders might as well do the run instead..not sure what they meant but I made sure to leave them in my dust while they sat and spun more stories.

How'd you end up doing, Owen? I'm guessing you won't have to be in the back corral next year! - FC

If we didn't know the end of the story, this waiting would really be a killer.
