The miserable brutality of the heat and wind on Leg 4 is not understandable unless you were there. In retrospect, we should have pulled Megan kicking and screaming off the course. She was bobbing and weaving from what we learned later was a significant case of heat exposure. That ride was not for the timid and potentially very dangerous in those temps. Next year we will have ice vests and a cooler full of ice water to chill out in after. It was nice to chat at transition. This is fun and I can’t believe I’m in the Fatty Blog!
