Smart daughter you have there!
The selected venue was the 1.2 mile loop around the quiet, rural neighborhood our daughter Gretchen lives in. This gave us the benefit of looping past our daughter’s house every mile or so, enabling us to easily avail ourselves of her fridge, bathrooms, etc....

She figured if you guys wanted to come down and ride around in in circles, you were just the kind of people Brody would like, while she went to the beach.

Great report!

Great ride and great report. I'm convinced that while convenient, having the house so handy with all of the amenities actually makes the mental aspect harder.

Hey. What's a century ride without "copious amounts of slobber?" Mental toughness and then some. Great job!

You had me worried there. You were awfully close to competing in my division. I was a week earlier than you, so I was riding behind the Tropical Storm aftermath instead of those thunderstorms.

Those thunderstorms storms were impressive. I survived all of the storms unscathed.

Nice course. That is prototypical Nowhere.

I'm surprised that you found a course that flat in that area. There are a few fairly stout hills over there. Not exactly mountainous, but some hills that I don't want to see twice on the same ride.

Great Danes are my favorite! So I was very excited to see a picture of one on a cycling blog. Way to stick it out and hang tough.

Brody should give cheerleading lessons to spectators of any 100MoN. Ah, to be encouraged with adoration and enthusiasm every five minutes or so.

Donni's connection with the neighbor along the route (with the son just diagnosed with cancer) gave me goosebumps.

Thanks for another great story!
