Just remembered I hadn't read the last report, so got to it just now, lickety split. What a great story. Proud of you Lisa! (You can tell I mean it because I used an exclamation mark and I usually edit those out).

Just getting caught up on blog posts. LOVED reading this series of posts. I am positive I'm not alone when I say that The Hammer is my Queen of Pain. I had the same awe when I met her a couple years back and was invited to sit with her and Fatty at Livestrong Davis. One of the sweetest, kindest, beautiful inside and out ladies I've ever met. And one of the fiercest competitors - male or female. Congratulations on a hard fought sub-nine hour finish!

Wow! Late comment; just got back from the Leadville area myself, climbing a 14er with my awesome daughter. Just spent the last hour catching up. And totally absorbed in The Hammer's story. Just great!! The riding and the story telling were amazing. As I drove through Provo I actually thought of going to Alpine, but you sure don't need crazy fans just dropping in. Great, great, great!

The image of Rebecca slapping her butt for you to follow really makes this race report so perfect. Not sure why it amuses me so much, but it does. The report wouldn't have been the same without it! So inspiring in every way, Lisa!

Lisa, what a great story indeed. Thanks so much for sharing; it's greatly appreciated. Exciting reading, even when I know how it turned out!

Elden, what the heck? Checked your Tri results to see when you DQ'd, and the results show that you essentially finished the entire race and still DQ'd. Inquiring minds need to know more. I know it will be revealed, but sooner is better than later (I think, lest there be some indecorous reason behind the DQ!).

Great ride Hammer - and terrific posts as well! Hopefully I'll get through the lottery one day and join the fun of Leadville, and see you all on the trails. Enjoy!!

Lisa- you are a true fighter and one of the best teammates I've ever raced with. It takes a very very strong will to trust someone to push you to your absolute limit. Thank you for letting me take you there. It was an extremely satisfying and memorable Leadville for me as well. You absolutely crushed it. What a journey and what a difference a bike race can make in our lives.
