I don't race, mainly because I'm chicken when it comes to descending, and you can only chase back on so many times on the flats before you're fried. So it is interesting to note that you prevailed despite your descending reservations. Of course, your idea of descending slowly could be my idea of screaming fast. I was thrilled that you and Heather were so kind. This was my first race ever. Not to mention first ride on a new bike and I had never rode any of the trails before. I was definitely out for an adventure. You made it enjoyable with your smile and up beat sounding voice. When you passed me I smiled and still felt accomplished. I knew I wouldn't catch you. I could tell you felt FAST! You ARE fast! It was like you had a motorized bike. So happy to see you take 1st. Great race! Great time!
