Watched Inspired to Ride inspired by your podcast and have a couple of observations:

1. The whole Guilianagate episode doesn't make sense timewise.
2. I was very happy to pay iTunes £4.49 to watch it. I would be very happy to pay you £4.49 to listen to your podcasts. The Cycling Podcast do a weekly podcast that is free but charge £5 to become a "friend of the podcast" which gives you access to 12 additional podcasts over a year. I would have thought that your legions of followers would be happy to give you the price of 2.5 cups of Starbucks coffee for a years-worth of podcasts or you could do a "Friends of Fatty" thing like TCP. You will then have a great big pile of money.

Loved the first podcast! Haven't watched the film yet but it's on my to-do list for Christmas break.
1. Weekly is good. Hopefully gives you a chance to generate a bank of episodes you can use for those weeks when things are busy.
2. I haven't read your books (sorry!) but are you talking like 5-10 minutes of reading to start/break up an episode or are these full hour-long readings? I like the idea of using a chapter as a mid-point in the interview to break things up.
3. An hour is great! Some of my other favorite podcasts are only 30 minutes and it always feels too fast.

In answer to your #2 question, I'm thinking separate episodes, containing a chapter or two from the book. Probably about 10-15min long. - FC

The hour length is good. I'd recommend a break about 30 minutes into the interview. That gives the listener a good place to stop the podcast and resume later without being confused to where they are in the flow. My commute is about 30 minutes so that would give me a good place to stop.
I'd like to hear some of the Best Of posts read by you as well.
Thanks for all you do to keep us informed, encouraged and entertained.

I really enjoyed your podcast, it makes me want to see the movie.
Answers to your questions;
1. Weekly would be fine. or two per week would be ok once in a while.
2. Listening to you read from your books would make me not want to listen. I really like the interview format.
3. 45 - 60 minutes. Because that how long my comute lasts. Closer to 45.

1. Weekly interviews are wonderful (though could quickly become a lot of extra work on top of everything else you're doing).
2. I would love to hear chapters from your books whenever you would be able to post them.
3. An hour or just below is great.

(1) Weekly is great.
(2) 45-60 minutes is ideal - I like to listen to podcasts when I run or drive.
(3) yes - reading book chapters is fine too - I used to listen to a radio program when I was little that read a chapter a day.
thanks!

What Shugg said.

An hour is about right.
I'd like to hear some chapters from your book read by you. Maybe a chapter per podcast.

1. Weekly is good.
2. As I said yesterday, very happy to hear about you. Will probably seem a bit lacking in spontaneity though. Why not get Mrs Fat Cyclist to interview you about The Crusher and kill two birds with one stone?
3. An hour is perfect - that's how long my commute takes.

Thanks for the podcast - I guess I'll get used to you not sounding right eventually.
