Things Aren’t Good
Susan couldn’t breathe last night, so she got her first ride in an ambulance. We spent most of last night in the emergency room, but Susan’s case isn’t the kind of emergency they’re used to dealing with.
I don’t know what’s going on and I don’t have time to write. I’ll explain when I understand and have a moment.
We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Be strong Elden, Susan and family. We recently went through a similar experience and I can tell you with E.R.’s & ambulances, I would DEMAND they take you to a place that will be able to deal with this situation. Most E.R.’s are not equipped to handle people like Susan (or in our case, my father). WIN SUSAN!

I got good news over the weekend that my friend with terminal brain cancer just had a clear scan… and if he can continue to have clear scans for the next year, he’ll be officially in remission and will be able to drive again– not competitively, though. That will take another 6 months.
My other friend with breast cancer is doing great and is back competing as a rally co-driver again.
I’m holding Matt, Lara, and especially Susan in my heart, fingers crossed and good karma sent out.

Hey there Bro,
My wife is going through breast cancer right now, and while it’s nowhere as bad as what Susan is going through I feel for her, you and especially your kids. When Janet was first diagnosed with cancer I knew it would be challenging but what’s most disheartening about this cancer is you don’t know what’s next. And I’m going to try to put this in a way that doesn’t sound selfish but, I haven’t the foggiest notion how I’m supposed to feel or act or what to do because Janet is the one going through this ordeal. And Susan too for that matter. But she sounds like a really cool person.
I have to go into the office each and every day I can, and then keep the kid’s focused on their lives and schoolwork and activities. I guess what I’m trying to say is that cancer affects not only the patient but all the loved ones and friends. It really sucks, there isn’t a playbook how to go thru this disease.
This whole episode you got going on is really harsh. I wish all the best for Susan, your children you, and the rest of your families.
