And then they busted out a beautiful Cervelo for me to ride.

But I’m going to ride this one. Wait and see.

Does that mean the Orca and the Singlefly are consigned to second place? Looks like a new favorite.

Well, it may make it a bit tougher to hang with the lead group…

Years ago I used to participate in the MS 150 City To Shore ride. There was an elderly Vietnamese woman who did the ride every year – on an old one speed she had since she was a little girl. With high heels and an I Love Lucy type dress. The basket was helpful for her nutrition/hydration drink ( a thermos of hot coffee). She may not have been fast, but she was inspiring and always finished! Last I heard, she had completed 20 rides and was 79 years old.

So, I don’t want to hear any whining about riding that Townie!

Sounds like a perfect fund rising gimmick. Pledge money for every mile fatty can survive on a little girls bike. To make it more interesting you should ride a smaller pink version of that bike. If you would like I am willing to loan you my daughters Barbie bike for the cause.

A Cervelo? I expected nothing worse than a Trek Madone 6.9 w/ SRAM Red, directly loaned from Juan Pelota’s personal collection for Fatty.

You could have people put donations in the basket as you rode by. However, you will have trouble keeping up with the front group on that thing.

If only it had been painted pink to match your FC jersey…

You remind me so much of my family in that pic; granny’s bike, wife’s pedal pushers (appropriate for the event, though), sister’s bracelet, great grandfather’s hair do, evil uncle’s eyebrow…

Seriously, good luck bridging the gap and have a swell time!

What’s so very sad, is that that bike is probably 10 times better than mine, LOL!

You SO need to put a baseball card in those spokes, so Lance will hear you coming!

WOW! You can carry carbogel and beverages for the entire crew with that handy basket…

Jeff’s got the right idea — cards in the spokes! That sound makes you go faster.

Hey, Clarence Pickard and his silver pith helmet became a legend in Iowa when he rode the first RAGBRAI with no preparation and on a borrowed girl’s five-speed Schwinn — at age 83.

    Go for it, Fatty!

You should wear the ‘manpris’ too.

And then offer that sweet ride up for the next big bicycle giveaway fund raiser.

Can you get a little dog for the front basket? I always like that. It’s a nice touch to watch the look of terror on some little chihuahua’s face…..
