From the Finish Lane

Originally uploaded by Fat Cyclist.

The Runner and I crossed together after an amazing day. To be clear, she waited up for me so I could finish with her.

Then, just to show the race hadn’t beat us, we walked two miles back to our hotel.

I’ll have a full writeup soon. For now, shower and food. Then sleep. Lots and lots of sleep.

Outstanding! If the time stamps for this post and the last are correct, you were just under 4 hours, right?

It was so good to see the both of you at Mile 19. Thanks for stopping and getting some pictures with us. Certainly the highlight of our cheering of the runners on the course today.

Congratulations Fatty and Lisa!!! I was hoping to spot you two around the finish line, but will console myself with the fact that you guys had already finished your 26.2 (my friend said it was close to 26.5?) before I got myself out of my apartment and onto the subway. :) Enjoy your stay in NYC!

Congrats to you both! Perhaps you could mention the mile you walked before the race and the hour or so you stood around waiting to start. Or maybe that was me…

(P.S. Met you in the airport.)

Congratulations, Lisa and Fatty! Love the names on the shirts. Guess “Runner” would look pretty silly on a t-shirt in a marathon.

Congrats on the finish Fatty! Sorry I missed you and Lisa. I was really looking forward to meeting you guys!

For those wondering, Fatty’s unofficial time is 4:37:29 (from the NYRR iPhone App).

Now get back to cycling!!!!!!!! Just kidding (not really), but congrats all the same marathons are huge accomplishments.

  22. Comment by Obstinate Roadie | 11.8.2010 | 9:34 am

That 26 miles would have been a mere warm up on one of your bikes. I don’t get it. But congratulations, and here’s hoping you didn’t get any debilitating injuries. ;)

I’m just bummed that I got to see Jared from Subway, Al Roker and the Chilean miner, as well as 3 Team Fatty-ites, but not Fatty and the Runner. Also, if anyone found my voice out there on the course, could you return it to me?

  25. Comment by YNWAsteve | 11.8.2010 | 1:23 pm

You kicked Roker’s ass. Well done.

  26. Comment by Erik | 11.8.2010 | 1:35 pm

If I had a Mo like that Tallahassee, I’ll bet I could run the New York Marathon.
