Thousands of people all running in a couple hours

Originally uploaded by Fat Cyclist.

The Runner and I are hanging around eating bagels in the "orange" village — the racers are divided up by colors. Which means that there are a couple more giant areas here, also filled up with thousands of people waiting for their turn to run.

This place is surreal.

2:30 til our start time (10:10 ET).

If you want to track our progress, my bib number is 30629. The Runner has promised to stay with me.

Good luck to all the Team Fatty members and everyone running today!! I wish I was up there to support everyone today. It would be much better than being at work.

This event should be perfect for you. I’m sure there will be hotdog and hot pretzel vendors all along the race route.

    Go Team FATTY!…

watching here in South Africa, but there seems to be one problem with our coverage, they are focusing on the guys in the front? what’s up with that, do they not know they have the world famous sports blogger extra-ordanaire in their midst?!? I mean really?

So many Fatty trying to track FC and The Runner. I got this message when I tried to login:

Due to the high demand on Athlete Tracker and the excitement for the ING New York City Marathon 2010, our servers are temporarily overloaded.

    Oh well.

I hope your MO helps you cut through the wind like the new Scott frame.

    Paul and others:

I briefly wrestled the Athlete Tracker into submission and got Fatty’s time at the half: 2:04:47.

And then it crashed again. Go Team Fatty!

Bravo, Fatty and Lisa!!! Yes you are lucky to have her, but imagine the blog if you ran this race alone. Ogden marathon? Can a Fatty Gran Fondo be far behind? We would all be looking forward to it.
