“Fatty’s Last Stop Pie Shop” and The Original FatCyclist.Com T-Shirts on Sale NOW

04.5.2013 | 1:44 pm

UPDATE: All the new t-shirts are on sale now. Here are quick links to the various shirts:

BONUS UPDATE: There are a few “Easier way of making a living” shirts left in stock, both in men’s and women’s sizes. Those are on sale for $8.00, while they last.

It has been rumored, from time to time, that I am a fan of pie. This, of course, is the least unlikely thing that has ever been said about me.

Of course I like pie. In particular, I like banana cream pie. And key lime pie. And cheesecake, which I hereby declare is  – the misleading “cake” part of its name not withstanding — definitely pie, seeing as how it’s pie-shaped and has not one bit of flour in it.

I like pumpkin pie, every kind of berry pie, apple pie, pecan pie, and rhubarb pie.

Oh, and I like quiche, which is really just egg-and-bacon pie.

There is very little chance, when you get right down to it, that I will not like any given pie.

And I believe I am not the only member of Team Fatty who feels this way.

Which — incredibly enough — brings me to the first of a very exciting pair of announcements.

The Most Awesome FatCyclist.Com T-Shirt, Ever, On Sale NOW

Every month, on the sixth of the month, my good friends at Twin Six sell a very limited-edition t-shirt — their t-shirt of the month.

These shirts always sell out fast. And then they’re gone.

Well, for the first time ever, the Twin Six T-shirt of the Month (Women’s sizes too) is this:

NewImage

Here, have a closer look at the image that goes on that shirt:

NewImage

I love this. I just love it. I’m going to wear it every day for a week as soon as I get it.

Which brings up the very important and salient question: how and when can you get this shirt? Well, the thing is, it’s a very limited-edition shirt, and once they’re gone, they’re gone forever. So you won’t want to dilly-dally in your ordering.

Here’s the when, how, and how much of procuring one of these fine shirts:

The Original FatCyclist.Com T-Shirt Is Back

The second announcement is that the original FatCyclist.com t-shirt — which hasn’t been available for years and years and years, and of which only a couple hunnerd were ever made — will be available starting tomorrow, in both men’s and women’s sizing. Like the T-Shirt of the Month t-shirt, it costs $24. Check it out — back first:

And here’s the front:

Bonus

The Original FatCyclist.Com t-shirt is the shirt I wear more often than any other. I am, for all you know, wearing one right now.

If you pick both of these shirts up, and you’re one of the first 100 people to do so, you’ll get a nice little bonus: a free 2012 100 Miles of Nowhere bottle — which is a super-nice Specialized Purist bottle, and a $10 value.

You’ll suddenly have so much FatCyclist.Com stuff you’ll have to be careful to not wear it on consecutive days, so people won’t start thinking you’ve joined a cult.

And In Conclusion…

Head over to Twin Six to pick up your t-shirt of the month (men’s sizing / women’s sizing) and the original FatCyclist.com t-shirt (men’s sizing / women’s sizing).

And you will always be well-dressed and hydrated, for the rest of your life. Plus, you’ll look slimmer too, what with the shirts being black and all.

This just became, officially, the greatest-day-before-the-greatest-day of my life!

Can you hear me whining about how I don’t want to have to wait until tomorrow?!!?

Strawberry-rhubarb. Best. Pie. Ever. But pumpkin runs a close second.

  3. Comment by roan | 04.5.2013 | 2:21 pm

Pie by itself is lacking, needs a good strong black coffee.
Fatty, ya need to buy a couple ‘hunnerd’ of dem t-shirt ta give away.
Of course you need at least 7 for yourself, one for each day, hummm maybe pin-on buttons, not for the days of the week but for the taste of each pie.
Maybe a button labelled “Gooseberry” a rare pie indeed. Another PawPaw Pie (or PaPa Pie) ’sorta like’ a banana cream with hint of lemon.

Great design; how about mincemeat pie–you down with that?

  5. Comment by DrBryce | 04.5.2013 | 3:35 pm

Step away from de pumpkin pie. It is a vegetable and cannot be considered a dessert. :) Mmmm, razzleberry pie. Drooling!

Looks good! I’ll snag one for sure!

  7. Comment by Davidh-Marin,ca | 04.5.2013 | 5:47 pm

@drbryce. If you can put whipped cream on it, it ain’t a vegetable!

  8. Comment by Frank | 04.5.2013 | 5:50 pm

Please, Please, Please tell me you’re really opening a pie and bicycle repair shop. I really need one of those.

  9. Comment by Davidh-Marin,ca | 04.5.2013 | 6:00 pm

I second the Wharton Crew, and I thank you Fatty for making my PIE Planning that much easier for Davis. I knew about the Banana thing, and I think I know where to get some Rhubarb Pie too(yes even here in Kalifornia). The idea of quiche is an interesting addition we might all enjoy as well..

Your shirt offer has just added another item to an already busy list for Saturday morning. List now reads:
    Pack car
    Pack bikes
    Cat to vet
    Twin six order
    Remember kids

    Maybe Twin Six would like to work on a shirt for Davis. May I suggest the idea;

    I’m With Fatty!

    that shirt is The Awesome!!!
I think the only thing better would be if it was the pie shop and bike store Race Team….

I don’t race because I’m really slow, but if I did, I’d want to be sponsored by a donut shop or pie store or something all ironical and stuff….

  12. Comment by Marsupial MattC | 04.5.2013 | 8:49 pm

Hate to tell you Fatty, but Macadamia Creme Pie is officially the mostest deliciousest pie on the planet. Banana creme is 2nd (if you are ever in Pearl City Hawaii (the island of Oahu), just swing by Anna Millers for some Mac-creme pie and coffee, and I’m quite sure you will agree.

I will be working tomorrow (and Sunday), but hopefully big brother hasn’t gotten Twin Six blocked…if so I will most likely cry right there at work, and then there will be tears (we would call it a “contaminant”) going up in space with this spacecraft, and it will be your fault for having this cool limited edition shirt come available when I’m on travel.

So if you get a knock on your door in a day or so and see a big black Suburban parked outside, it will be the Government asking why you are messing up their spacecraft. Oh yes, I’ll totally throw you under the bus. Fair warning.

Love the shirt, Dang it i am gonna lose sleep tonight, so excited!

@marsupial Matt. Any chance you could sneak a t shirt into the capsule for a ride? Now that would be totally cool!!!! Fatty in Space! Gives new meaning to the idea of World Wide Web.

Hrmm, the Pie Stand shirt is up, but the Fatty T still says out of stock…

  17. Comment by Marsupial MattC | 04.6.2013 | 8:15 am

david, now you’re just teasing me…I can almost TASTE that pie!

And HEY! We took a break RIGHT at 7am (Pacific)…lo and behold, big brother did NOT have the T6 site blocked…my Pie-shirt is a done deal! SWEET!! To the T6 desgin guys, way to go! Hope you sell a zillion of them!

I wonder if there are any bike repair shops that actually serve pie…that would be a good business combo.

And david…don’t think there’s any way to sneak anything into the spacecraft…we do a ’sponge-count’ when working…everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) that comes near the spacecraft is logged into a book, then recounted when taking it out…even tie-wraps…we account for EVERY single one…if they are used we count the cut ends before throwing them away…pretty serious stuff here. That’s why our spacecraft always last longer than their design life. Think back to the 2 mars rovers…built to last 90 days…they got like 3 YEARS. We build good stuff.

  18. Comment by Marsupial MattC | 04.6.2013 | 8:26 am

Hey…this totally has nothing whatsoever to do with anything here at Fatty’s, but it’s wicked cool none-the-less…check out this time-lapse video from the ISS…(it has music too)..love the night lighting-strikes and aurora borealis…I just don’t see how anybody gets work done up there..I’d be glued to the observation window.

I’m going to have to get the other shirt later. It went live after I got the pie shirt. I’ve only ever really gone after 1 TOTM and it was sold out in 20 minutes so I got jittery and just pulled the trigger too early. Maybe it’s the universe’s way of saying “One t-shirt is enough and for the love of all that is holy, you don’t need another water bottle.” (Which I don’t, but we disagree on the shirt.)

Speaking of the 100 Miles of Nowhere…

  20. Comment by davidh-marin,ca | 04.6.2013 | 8:30 am

O>K> Matt, no shirt. But I bet you could put a Fatty Decal on the outside. Kinda like a sponsor’s label. Don’t tell me this little package doesn’t look like a hi tech NASCAR exercise by the time it takes off.

Thanks for the Twin Six update, going there next.

  21. Comment by David | 04.6.2013 | 8:38 am

After a long wait for the right fatty gear to become available and not be out of stock @ Twin Six :-(, the deed is now done. Hopefully two Fatty T-Shirts will be shortly on their way over the Atlantic to me in the UK.

@Jeremy – there is no such thing as too many bottles (n+1 isn’t just for bikes you know) and you definitely ‘need’ the shirt :-).

@Fatty – And speaking of the 2013 100 Miles of Nowhere, is an announcement imminent? I have a cunning plan to rope-in at least one unknowing volunteer to join me on a East Midlands-UK attempt (and it will involve pie).

  22. Comment by davidh-marin,ca | 04.6.2013 | 8:51 am

@David EastMidlands, UK. I do not know if steak and kidney should count as a pie for the standards of this blog.

Good luck on the 100MoN. and send us a picture of the shirt with a pint. (for Marsupial Matt to drool over) The pint that is.

  23. Comment by Jeremy | 04.6.2013 | 8:56 am

@David – Yes, there is such a thing as too many bottles. N+1 applies only as long as the spouse is happy. The spouse in not happy. Therefore, I have too many water bottles.

  24. Comment by davidh-marin,ca | 04.6.2013 | 9:02 am

    @MM Video is too cool!

@Jeremy Search Fatty’s Vimeo archive for what to do with water bottles. It will make your wife happy. Think Riccola!

  25. Comment by David | 04.6.2013 | 9:05 am

@davidh-marin,ca. I am quite sure we wouldn’t get away with such an obviously savory pie. There has already been dissent earlier in the comments over Pumpkin not qualifying because it is a vegetable :-).

No need to worry, we’ll easily find something to maintain that calorie intake. Apple Pie and Custard anyone (http://goo.gl/TNENK)?

  26. Comment by Nic Grillo | 04.6.2013 | 9:17 am

@davidh, looks like we’re going to have some awesome new t-shirts to rock in Catalina!

@Jeremy Slowly work the wife into riding. Not at your impressive numbers, but something fun. Wife#1 is now riding her black lung/gangrene Hakalugi, and blogging about it too. Retweeted by the folks at Ibis so they know she loves it. She’s been riding for one month, and already is taking advantage of the offers at Twin Six for new gear. Diamonds are so ‘last year’, have a bike painted in her favorite colors, and go out for a leisurely spin. Before you know it she’ll have more bottles than you!

This marital advice is offered free of charge, since you can’t put a price on free advice.

  28. Comment by Jeremy | 04.6.2013 | 11:24 am

@davidh – She does have a bike and we do ride, though she doesn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I do. She’s fine with my bike shop in the garage, but I have an entire shelf in the pantry, a shelf of retired “trophy” bottles in the office, and a laundry basket full of other bottles. I’ve turned some into fender flaps, sand toys, vases, miscellaneous tool holders, and kid’s toys. There came a point last year when I had to begrudgingly get rid of some so I’ve gave some away to students as prizes and gave some to charity. They just seem to breed in the dishwasher.

She gave me one shelf in the pantry and it has to fit my bike bottles and beer growlers. When the choice is space for bottles or space for growlers, you have to moderate a little.

Did i need to add the bottle to my order, or will they do it automatically??? I didnt add it and order within the first few moments

    Added automatically. – FC

Had a group ride this morning, of course during the opening of the sale. Anticipating a very short-lived deal, I pulled over at 9 AM to place the order. Got dropped by the group and once purchase completed they had an 8-10 minute gap. The group was caught, ride completed, and post ride reward consisted of amazing strawberry rhubarb PIE!! Could a day get any better? Maybe if I could have had my wheels trued while enjoying pie! Fatty’s shop is now officially on the bucket list!

  32. Comment by TimD | 04.7.2013 | 12:14 pm

East Midlands David, don’t be swayed by these namby-pampy north American so called pies. I forbid you to do 100 miles of nowhere fueled by anything other than Melton Mowbray pork pies. If I hear otherwise, I’ll be down there to pelt you with beef growlers and Poole’s meat pies.

  33. Comment by Kelly | 04.8.2013 | 5:56 pm

Best key lime pie ever – recipe stolen from XXXX restaurant.

    1 graham cracker pie crust
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup fresh lime juice (I cheat and use regular limes – it takes 3 fat regular limes)
1 tub creamy Cool Whip (reserve 1 big dollop)

Mix the last 3 ingredients together for 30 seconds. Spoon into pie crust. Refrigerate an hour, or not, if you’re ready to eat. Spoon the big dollop of Cool Whip in the center of the pie – garnish with a lime slice.

Best lime pie ever and it takes 5 minutes to assemble.

@ClydeKS Congrats on cathcing the ‘group’ with a 10 minute lead! Very Fatty of you.

I have my shirt on order, but I wonder about the idea of a Fatty repair shop. If we’ve learned anything from this blog, it’s the fact that Fatty is much better at advice than repairs. Search back for his instructions on how to change a flat. In a nutshell it entails flailing around till someone in the group
offers to do it for you, just so the group can get on with the ride.

I also think the idea of eating pie, talking bikes(or repairs) is more suited for a couch. Just think how much we could learn from Fatty on the couch. ontemplating his inner child….

Oh! wait a minute, I think that’s what we’ve been exposed to all this time already.

  35. Comment by DavidH, MarinCa | 04.8.2013 | 10:09 pm

Probably should check next time I comment on wife#1’s computer.

@Jeremy OK, I understand the bottle situation. Since you have kids and a bicycling wife, what you need is MORE BOTTLES, not less. Tell her it’s for the kids.

    Bottle House anyone?

My grandmother made a rhubarb custard pie that was to die for. I helped her grow the rhubarb and it was simply the best. She also made her crust from scratch which made it taste even better I think. No restaurant or store pie can touch the taste that I have found so far.
