If you want to track The Hammer and me in real time during this race, I am number 283. The Hammer is racer 595. You can click here to find us.  Hint: Search on “Nelson” to see both of our statuses on the same page, as well as some other guy who has the nerve to also have our last name.

Fatty in the suitcase of pain, oh so close to the podium in the SS div. Come on Fatty, could there be a Hammer – gold and Fatty – silver in their respective divisions?

Hammer is obviously dancing on her pedals into 1st in the SS, its up to Fatty now.

Make your move Fatty, we’re sitting on the edge of our recliners.

I finished in 12:50 so although I didn’t get a belt buckle, I did get a finisher medal. I’m happy with that. My husband, Eric, finished in 12:15 or so. We are sooooo tired. Good job Fatty and the Hammer!

Forgot to give a shout out to Doug Bohl (Way upstate NY) presently way out west singing Rocky Mountain High…. that is if he has anything left after his 10:51 Leadville finish. Way to go Doug!

Well done Corrine and Eric! A nice ride. You’ve given me some inspiration to do the same!

Corrine and Eric it was really nice to meet you guys at the movie. I am glad that you both finished.

@Davidh- Dave, Dave, Dave….I do believe that you need to go look at the finish times again. It was 10:30:05.67 (not that I have that number memorized or anything) And while Phil Liggett wasn’t saying anything about me pushing to get on a podium, I guarantee you he said something about the level of suffering I was experiencing at the finish.

Congrats! Way to destroy the goal time.

Awesome job – bested your prediction by 10 minutes! Absolutely Epic – 25 minutes faster last year!

Doug. I seriously and profusely apologize. I DID see 10:30:xx as the finish. I commented to Wife#1 (verbally) that you ‘did it” with an hour and a half to spare!

Note I posted at 12:21 am, so I’ll blame myself for trying to say something that late at night. As penance I’ll bring a WHOLE PIE just for you at the next gathering!

10:30:05.67 any tattoo parlors in Potsdam?

    Great Job Doug!

    Hi
Great to find this blog- wish I had thought of trying to find something like this before- I was 22 stone 3 months ago- now 18 and a 1/4- looking to reach 15 by Christmas and other than a diet change its all down to getting back on the bike. Fat people of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but a hell of a lot of dignity at the start :) But it is so worth it.
    Good luck and keep peddling.
