Chat Live with Twin Six and Me Today, Johan Bruyneel Tomorrow

03.22.2011 | 10:01 am

A Note from Fatty: Hey, guess what. I’m the guest blogger for Bill Strickland’s “The Selection” blog over at today. Why don’t you do me a favor and go read it?

201103220947.jpgTomorrow’s going to be a big day for this blog and me — at 5:30PM (ET) / 2:30PM (PT) I’ll be moderating a live Q&A chat with Johan Bruyneel.

Yes, that’s right. Johan Bruyneel.

He’s going to be here, live and online, taking questions as you ask them and giving answers.

So, if you’ve ever wanted to talk with the man Phil Liggett describes as arguably the best team director in the history of the sport, be sure to come here tomorrow and at 5:30PM (ET) / 2:30PM (PT) and join the conversation.

This is something you do not want to miss. Nor do I, for that matter.

201103220950.jpg Awesome Dress Rehearsal with Twin Six

Here’s the thing, though. I’ll be using live blogging software ( for the live chat with Johan — and I’ve never used it before. And frankly, I don’t like the idea of using this tool for the first time ever as this interview begins.

So, as practice, I’ll be doing a Q&A today at  4:30PM (ET) / 1:30PM (PT) with Ryan Carlson and Brent Gale from the hip bike clothing design company that all the cool kids are copying, Twin Six.

Frankly, I think it’s going to be a terrific conversation, for the following reasons:

  • The Twin Six guys are an awesome success story. Two friends had a great idea — make cycling clothes that look great — and have made a successful business out of it.
  • The Twin Six guys are smart and funny. I call them all the time just to talk, because they crack me up. Sometimes we talk for hours. Sometimes they tell me to leave them alone; they have work to do.
  • The Twin Six guys are working on the design for the next 100 Miles of Nowhere T-Shirt right now. Maybe you can give them some suggestions on what you’d like to see that shirt look like.
  • The Twin Six guys are working on the design for the 2012 Fat Cyclist jersey right now. They haven’t shown me a thing. Maybe we can get them to give us some hints on what it’ll look like.
  • The Twin Six 2011 collection is incredible. Seriously, check it out. And be sure to check out their super-secret “Dark” collection, too. Wow. If there is one jersey I absolutely must have this year, it’s this one. Or maybe it’s this one. Or maybe it’s both.

So, come back at 4:30PM (ET) / 1:30PM (PT) today. Bring your questions and comments, kudos and ideas, for Twin Six. And for me. Cuz I guess I wouldn’t mind answering a couple questions, too.

It’ll be fun. Provided, of course, I get the interviewing software software working.

PS: And — just one more time — be certain to come back tomorrow at 5:30PM (ET) / 2:30PM (PT) for the Johan Bruyneel chat.

You mean you want me to purposely slack off at work in order to help you test your blogging software? Ok!

As extra incentive, you should give away some FC schwag for people who risk their jobs to help you today. ;-)

I can’t make it to the chat, but ask Brent why no one answers e-mail for product requests.

E-mailed the customer service address and and Bret’s e-mail and havn’t heard anything back.

Fatty already told us he talks to them for “hours”. I don’t think anyone could answer email when Fatty has their ear.

Fatty: As for your favorite jerseys, are you asking us to pitch in for your birthday(which we don’t know), or is this part of the blog just aimed at the kids and the Runner?

Out for a ride before more rain, try to be back for your test.

I also second the call for PINK Jerseys!

I’m a bib short convert since I got my pair of T6 bibs. They are the “go to” favorites in my gear drawer.

    Jerseys are great too.

I love my Twin Six gear! I am worried that when I drop the weight that I have planned I won’t be able to fit into my Team Fatty gear and will have to wait until next season for a chance for more. I will be getting the Cabby , motor, crank, deluxe jerseys and some bibs though. Hmmmmmm I may have a slight T6 problem.

    I concur with Yahoo!Rob

I have been a huge twin six fan ever since the first fatty jersey came out. My personal favorite jersey is the white one. I hope the T6 boys bring in a white option for us in the desert regions of America.

My wish list now includes the new Speed Racer inspired jersey and my wife and girls want the Trixie. They are seriously cool.

Here’s a question for those fine chaps at Twin Six from a fatty listener in the UK.

I love the fatty kit and would wear it with a bizzare sense of pride. Its just a shame that when I stumbled onto and thought, yep, I want a jersey and then I am gutted to discover that I am not able to get one. I understand you do one fatty run a year and whilst I appreciate that you guys might not be in the position to carry a lot of stock, could you not consider doing more than one run a year to cater to those of us who have a different cycling season and are perhaps a little late to the party?

Also, any plans to re-run the current fatty design?

    Cheers guys

Please ask them to personalize each Team Fatty jersey so we know each other.

I’d like my name done in a herringbone stitch. kthxbai

Awesome stuff fatty! I think it worked great and would love to see more live chats in the future if other awesome people are willing to come livechat for you!

Thanks for the opportunity to test out the chat with T6! If you can, and it is not too dear, can you get rid of the ads? They were highly annoying and obscured the chat feed…I purposely wouldn’t buy the products advertised as they were so annoying!

So sad I missed the live-chat-blogging with T6. I love their stuff.

Ads have got to go!!! Use some of Joe Hands Radio Shack money!

I totally agree about the ads needing to go. I’m pretty sure I’ve got that problem solved for tomorrow’s session. – FC

You forgot to mention that T6 is based in Minneapolis, my hometown and the #1 biking city in the US. Take that, Portland!
And they have the most awesome designs!

‘You can never be too old, too rich or own too many T-shirts’
At last count, I’m somewhere in the mid 20’s for T6 t’s…. just the thing for living here in Saudi.

Although once I move back to New Zealand in a couple of months, they will become ‘thermal layers’ as it will be winter
