Twin Six is Even Cooler than I Thought

11.3.2008 | 2:41 pm

Earlier today I posted that Twin Six was being really thoughtful by passing along all the profits for the XL-and-larger Fat Cyclist jerseys on to me to help defray hospital and ambulance costs.

Well, it turns out I was mistaken.

They are much, much, more thoughtful than I expected.

What they’re actually doing is, this week, sending Susan and me 50% of the purchase price ($35 per jersey) for any Twin Six jersey sold in Men’s XL-and-larger and Women’s L-and-larger.

I called and verified, because I simply cannot believe it, but it’s true. This week, every Twin Six Clydesdale and Athena jersey is a Fat Cyclist jersey.

Brent and Ryan are the coolest.

PS: Be sure to check out the Twin Six home page. I admit, it choked me up.

I met one of the TwinSix guys at Interbike, and he was totally cool and down to earth. I told him that I would continue to support their business because of their partnership with FC.. I like the idea of a bib and armwarmers to match.. How cool is that to rock the full FC kit at the next group ride?? Way cool, is the correct answer..

  12. Comment by Rob | 11.3.2008 | 3:35 pm

Twin Six is truly awesome. And more good news….it looks like there are additional ‘08 jerseys available in orange and pink. I just did my wife’s Christmas shopping for her, and helped the Nelson family. Maybe today hasn’t been a total waste.

  13. Comment by Bluenoser | 11.3.2008 | 3:35 pm

I was so impressed with their generosity I sent them an email through their website just to thank them. I too got choked up when I clicked on their home page. Wow, what a company. When I need jerseys for my business, and I will sometime next year, I’m going to them!

I’ll even send an email to my bike tour clients (I know a few who are XL!) to see if we can beef up that order!

Those guys at T6 are so cool. And I love their jerseys, so comfortable to wear and stylishly individual, too.

Drooling over the arm warmers, and the cap that’s coming soon, and those shorts…. I gotta forward the link to my sweetheart, so he can order my Christmas gifts! :)

Unfortunately, Fatty, neither of us take XL or larger jerseys. Darn that bike riding! :) It made us smaller! :)

    WIN, SUSAN!!!!!!

Tonight I was doing a search for Twin Six jerseys to see if they ever go on sale. It is hard for me to buy things not on sale. Anyway, I am so happy to have found your site tonight and to read about what great things Twin Six is doing for you and your family. I will be purchasing my first Twin Six jersey and am so excited.

All the best to you and your family.

When I was a young’n, I used to ride around the Minneapolis lakes so much in the summer that I developed tan spots on the backs of my hands from the crochet pattern of my bike gloves.

And I’m still a Gopher in my heart…

    Go T6!

I had been getting most of my gear (jerseys) from them because they had interesting stuff. I’ll be getting all of it there in the future. Especially that nice, new long sleeve. I’ve been meaning to try a woolie for a while, and how can I turn down a Fatty jersey?

I love my Twinsix jerseys (all of them). In fact other than my IC3 jersey, just about everything I wear now is from Twinsix.

  50. Comment by leroy | 11.4.2008 | 2:25 pm

    Just my luck.

The magical weight loss properties of my old Fat Cyclist jersey means I can no longer wear an XL without risking an online photograph and mockery by a fellow Brooklynite who maintians an alternative cycling site.

His inexplicable antipathy to baggy jerseys is well documented.

So I ordered a Fat Cyclist Wooly.

    Kudos to Twin Six.

(And if that other blogger is reading, I still ordered one size too large. I could say it’s to accomodate a base layer, but I think we all know that some of us just make a baggy jersey look good.)

Best wishes to you and your family. WIN Susan!

  51. Comment by Drew | 11.4.2008 | 2:30 pm

Well I haven’t gotten an email from Twin Six saying that the XXL 09 jerseys are out of stock, I assume you’re getting half of that purchase sometime soon.

I’m new to road riding, but my *only* gear is FC, because my husband is such a huge fan. So far, the only Christmas gifts I had bought for him were FC. Today, I got him the wooly, after he hinted so emphatically last night. Alas, he’s no longer an XL, but we’re buying up as much as we can wear as it comes out. Best wishes to you both! Admirable job, T6!

    WIN WIN WIN!!

I learned about Susan, your family and the blog from the T6 website. as the husband of a cancer survivor, if there’s a way I can help a guy out and put some top quality threads on my back, I’m in. FYI, I just ordered my second and third FC jerseys, arm warmers and bibs. I probably have a dozen T6 jerseys and calling me a “clydesdale” would be a compliment.

God bless you and your family. You’re all in my prayers every day.

A couple weeks ago while in Austin (picking up some birthday gifts at Lance Armstrong’s Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop) I spotted a rider in a new FC jersey. I hollered, “I have one of those jerseys — Fatty Rules!” at him out the car window, much to the dismay of my fellow passengers (and by the looks of it the cyclist as well).

If you’re out there, Mr. Austin Fat Cyclist Fan, please come forward.
